Haiti Assistance Fund
Haiti is particularly vulnerable to natural disasters. In addition, poverty, climate change, and socio-economic inequalities place the population at even greater risk.
The Haiti Assistance Fund, which was created following the devastating earthquake of 2010, allows the Foundation to support local organisations working with the most vulnerable in isolated regions following a disaster.
In the past, this fund has contributed to over 30 reconstruction projects that have totaled more than $4 million in response to the 2010 earthquake. Projects included rebuilding infrastructure, relaunching health and education services, as well as agricultural and income-generating activities and providing access to clean water.
In response to Hurricane Matthew, the Foundation supported 29 projects worth more than $1.7 million, and most recently, the fund helped meet the essential needs of communities as they faced the COVID-19 pandemic with initiatives to prevent and mitigate its negative impacts.
On August 14th, 2021, the country was once again struck by a massive earthquake measuring 7.2 on the Richter scale that caused severe damage. You can show your compassion and solidarity with the Haitian population and their efforts to recover from this disaster.
Your donation will concretely improve the living conditions of those most affected by present and future disasters.
