SOPAR and the Roncalli International Foundation: Over 45 years of impactful partnership in India
When the Roncalli International Foundation began its activities in 1980, one of the first projects it funded was in collaboration with the organization SOPAR – Bala Vikasa. This $10,000 project provided shelter to people living in precarious conditions in the village of Reddipalem in the state of Telangana. It marked the beginning of a partnership that continues to this day and that, more than 45 years later, has improved the living conditions of thousands of people across central and southern India!
Women at the heart of projects
Clean water, key to development
“Before, families depended on private suppliers whose prices were too high. Many had no choice but to drink unsafe water. Today, the village proudly operates a community-owned water purification system that provides clean drinking water 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, at low cost,” explain the women of Danthalapally village, where a water purifier was installed.

Partnership as a spark for change
A solidarity visit
This approach, grounded in solidarity, dignity, and sustainable development, resonates deeply with the mission of the Roncalli Foundation and illustrates why, after 45 years, this partnership continues to bear fruit. Together, we carry on our commitment to create lasting change that restores hope and paves the way toward a more just and united future!
